Production Details:

The song takes place on a split stage, with a classroom on each side. Both classes sing the song together, but both arrived at the song independently.

Verses: Sung by the students in Miss Baker’s and Mrs. Williams’ classes. It’s a call and response song during the verses. This can be done in a variety of ways.

One way: 1st verse: Miss Baker’s class sings, the other echoes. 2nd verse: Alternate. 3rd verse: Both classes lead, the chorus section (and audience) echoes

Chorus is bolded: Everyone sings.

Dance interlude during an 8 measure instrumental in each chorus.

Staging:

10-12 students in a semi-circle in one half of the stage, with the same configuration on the other half. It should look like two separate rooms who happen to be in sync with each other.

Musically:  Key of C

The band needs to be present enough to establish structure in the verses, but skeletal to allow space. Playing on the one could do that. When it comes to the chorus we want to quickly energize into a reggae-style groove. Actors will dance and finish in four measures. (We may need one extra measure to prepare for the next verse.)

The song finishes with a double chorus.
