Production Details:
This opening song intends to create an awareness that, while friendship is not a guaranteed part of life, when one feels it, one should embrace it because: everything is better with it!
The first verse is a solo vocal only, sung off stage, with the band. No music. Lights go on as the third line is sung. After the fourth line, the band counts off the rhythm and kicks into a peppy, gospel feeling groove.
Two verses are sung by all to this groove and then it fades quickly and the play begins.
Staging:
The four main kid characters are playing at recess happily, with others in the background just to give context. We do not hear their play or conversations. They give the impression that life is good at recess! As the music fades, they begin to speak.
Musically: Key of G
The first verse is a solo vocal only. No music. After the fourth line, the band counts off the rhythm and kicks in to a peppy, gospel feeling groove. This is a very short, one part song. Just after getting that good feeling, fade quickly and the play starts.
